Kelly's 2nd. Birthday

Kelly's second birthday was a busy day filled with wonder, fun, and friendship.

To start the day, we went shopping for a cake. Since our kitchen currently has no oven, MaMa could not bake Kelly's cake this year (we love homemade!), so we went to a local bakery.

After that, we went to run some errands, and drove by some very large boots.
At night their design incorporates stars that light up.

Here's Santa waving to us (or giving up the Peace sign)!
Santa's reindeer were taking the day off. We saw the jolly man on the highway. Unfortunately, Kelly had just fallen asleep in her car seat. Too bad, since the combination of Santa and a motorcycle would have been very exciting for her.
There is a little reindeer strapped to the front of his motorcycle and he had red baskets with bows on both sides.

After some more running around, Kelly took her shoes off. Here she is blocking the bright sun. The temperature hit 76 degrees today (in late December!).

We had an unexpected welcomed guest today for Kelly's birthday.
DaDa saw a ladybug in the den, and took her photo before escorting her outside.
Kelly had good luck all day long!

Friends and family gathered around Kelly to celebrate her birthday. Dinner was grilled hot dogs, sausage and chips...some of Kelly's favorite foods.

After dinner, part of the group took a quick walk to burn some calories/energy
and also to enjoy the beautiful lights.

Then we took a quick group shot outside, as it was starting to cool off.

Finally, it was time for two candles on a cake!
DaDa dropped the cake in the bakery parking lot, but it still tasted yummy!

After the candles were properly extinguished, MaMa and DaDa joined Kelly for a photo.

Kelly really liked her cake!

MaMa delivered the presents from the group.

Kelly's GrandMa gave Kelly a hand-customized stocking (she worked on it for months!).
Now, all Santa has to do is fill it!

After the other kids had to go home, Kelly brought out her Mickey phone and made some calls with S and L's help.

It was a great day. We thank God for our wonderful child, and the friends and family who made the day special.

Happy Birthday Kelly!

I made a post JUST for you on my blog, and offended Auntie K3 because I cropped Katie out of the photo. But hey! This was YOUR birthday and you deserved to be in the spotlight.
