Kelly's First First Friday

Today Kelly went to her first First Friday event. On the first Friday of every month, local artists keep their studios and galleries open into the evening. MaMa and DaDa see some of their artist friends. From left to right: Miss H., a graphics artist and longtime friend, MaMa & Kelly, painter artist Carolina Flores and her husband R.

This is part of Stella Marroquin's exhibit.

Kelly met several artists, and also said "blue" and "red" for the first time. At least, that's what DaDa heard. Here we are with Any Perez. His work directly behind us is intricately cut paper that is collaged into some wonderful iconic landmarks.

Some artist friends met Kelly for the first time. Artist Dennis Smith and his wife. Dennis said to Kelly, "I remember when you were just a dream for your mommy and daddy." We thought that was a very nice statement, from people who were supportive all through the process. This was one of Dennis' fabulous shows.

Kelly enjoys music, and she had fun hangin' with the DJs.
They noticed she was bopping her head back and forth with the music and came over and gave her some attention.

Totally precious! She just can't keep still. I've got one like that, too!

Kelly is going to be the most artistically aware person on the planet in her teenage years, being so exposed to it from such a young age. Good for Kelly and good for Kelly's MaMa & DaDa!

It looks like you all had a great time.

Okay, give that girl some mariachis or drumsticks or a tamboureen!

Based on the finger-in-the-mouth action, I bet if you played music like that while she was brushing her teeth she'd never get a cavity!
