Fabric Outing

Kelly notices her shadow. This created much excitement for Kelly...

Kelly had a fabulous day today. Kelly, Grandma, and MaMa went to the fabric store. As we entered, Kelly saw a Teddy Bear on a blanket hanging on the wall. She started her, "Awwwwwww!" super loud.

We looked at bright cotton prints and she patted them and did her, "Awwwwwww! We passed some fuzzy fabric and she pulled it and patted it with an even louder, "Awwwwwww!" She looked up at Grandma as if to say, "Grandma this would make a great Teddy Bear."

At the check out counter the lady behind us told her, "Your a pretty little girl" and started making bird sounds for Kelly. Kelly looked and smiled.

At the next store two ladies with a baby stopped us and told us Kelly was so cute! They asked how old she was and when I said 13 months. They said, "She's tiny! She's the size of my daughter as she pointed to her baby." "What's her name" I asked. "Cassidy" she said. "And how old is she?" I asked. "8 months" they commented.

They also commented on how much hair Kelly has. Their baby didn't have hardly any hair, but she had on some very cute earrings.

There was also a cute little blonde girl about 3 years old with her Mom that was so excited about Kelly. She kept waving to Kelly and saying, "Hi Baby! Hi Baby". We got Kelly to wave to her after awhile.

In the parking lot my Mom saw two old family friends. By the time Kelly and I walked over, one of them was in the car. It was Nick Villareal and his Mom. Nick is a very well known musician here in Texas in the Tejano Music scene. He has been awarded many times on TV.

Later when DaDa got home he saw Kelly asleep in MaMa's arms in the rocking chair. This is the first time that Kelly has allowed MaMa to rock her to sleep.

After dinner, we all sat on the couch and Dada read and sang "Snuggle Puppy" by Sandra Boynton. It was a gift from Gary and Linda. Kelly likes to point at the pictures and tries to sing along.

Still having "firsts" after almost 3 months. I love being able to follow along with you.

It was so heartwarming to read that she finally allowed you to cuddle and rock her to sleep! What a big hurdle you've passed. Heres to MANY more opportunities to come.

Yay for Kelly & Mama! And how wonderful that DaDa happened home in time to get such a nice picture of the big event!

By the way, does Kelly have a new Teddy Bear in her future?
